Since their launch almost two decades ago, our Powerstir friction stir welding machines have gained a reputation as the premier technology for creating superior, high-strength welded joints that are free from the unsightly visible effects and metallurgical changes that are typically associated with conventional welding.

Today’s Powerstir FSW range includes small, travelling table R&D machines, specialist machines for ellipsoidal and spherical contour welding, static gantry models and moving heavy gantry models for the manufacture of railway carriage panels.

We have also developed a number of FSW machines specifically for use in the manufacture of a variety of components for electric vehicles, including aluminium alloy ‘skateboard’ battery trays.
