Holroyd Precision Wins 2014 Rochdale ‘Apprentice Employer Of The Year’ Award

Rochdale-based Holroyd Precision Limited, a Precision Technologies Group (PTG) company, has won the coveted Apprentice Employer of the Year award in the prestigious 2014 Rochdale Business Awards.

During a presentation evening on Friday 7th November, at Rochdale Town Hall, Holroyd Precision Limited’s HR Director, Don Whittle, and HR Manager, Mary McGrath, proudly accepted the award from Rochdale council leader, Councillor Richard Farnell.

Fantastic recognition

“Winning the Apprentice Employer of the Year award is fantastic recognition for everyone involved in our apprenticeship scheme,” said Don Whittle. “At Holroyd Precision Limited, we are committed to investing in the local workforce and ensuring that a strong engineering skills base exists in the Rochdale area. In fact, every year we look to take on a number of young people as apprentices.”

Cutting-edge skills

“Working in association with Rochdale Training,” he continued, “we develop cutting-edge skills through robust, engineering-based modern apprenticeships that include on-the-job training, along with study for nationally recognised qualifications. The majority of those awarded an apprenticeship with us not only stay the course but, typically, go on to enjoy long and successful careers.”

Established in 2011, the Rochdale Business Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses and business people within Rochdale Borough. During the 2014 event, no fewer than ten awards were given, with categories ranging from Start-up Business of the Year, to Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The Apprentice Employer of the Year award won by Holroyd Precision Limited was sponsored by Hopwood Hall College.
